    Description

    This is a "keeper" for a Pattern 1851 NCO or Cavalry sword belt plate.  It carries a stamped bench mark on the reverse, 774.  This is for one of the smaller size belt plates often encountered.  The exterior dimension is exacly 2 inches.  The belt slot measures 1 3/4 inches and the hook or tongue slot measures. 5/8 inch.  Can't guarantee that this will fit your buckle, but guaranteed to be original the the Civil War Period.
