An American sterling silver serving stand, Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, Rhode Island
The low circular bowl with applied lion mask and scroll handles, the surface engraved with anthemion, leaves and scrolls, the support cast as a Classical maiden, her arms aloft, on a laurel bordered plinth and spreading circular base.

This is in fact American by Gorham and the date letter B is for 1869. The engraved decoration to the bowl is very typical of that period. The quality of the cast figure is very nice as are the masks on the handles.
Condition looks generally good for its age, arrowed pictures shows missing notch and surface dent. Please ask questions prior to bidding. Displays well
