    Description

    This is a fine American Civil War “US” belt buckle that remains in excellent condition. The face is with a smooth chocolate brown patina. There is one small ding to the left side of the “U” from actual use in the field. The reverse is with the “puppy paw” hooks and 99% of the lead which has one small flake along the bottom edge. The plate appears to be an old battlefield pickup with slight wear to the patina in the high spots caused by handling over the years. A beautiful and attractive-looking Federal belt plate.
