    Description

This is a very old leather belt with a small removable brass compass that works. The origin is unknown but a good guess would be from the Civil War conflict. The compass is not marked and measures 3/8 inches long and 3/4 inches wide. The compass slides anywhere along the belt. It's in good working condition.  The belt is 3/4 inches wide and about 36 inches long. There is an attached leather loop measuring 5 inches long that was made to carry something in the loop. The leather is very soft but not fragile. This is a real nice military item that is quite unusual.
