    Description

    This scarce card was issu
    ed
by the POST CEREAL COMPANY  as an insert premium in their brands of cereal in 1947.   The series features different Circus Characters, Animals, and rides.  The card is printed with different parts that were die-cut so that you could punch tem out and put them together like a stand up toy.  The American Card Catalogue list this series as F278-53  entitled (also can be seen on page 654 of the Non Sports Bible) Circus Toys. This particular card features WHIRLING MERRY GO ROUND
The card measures 7 ¾  inches by just under 6 inches approximately. The card is intact, un-punched and free from major  creases.  I have scann
    ed
the front and back of the figure fairly large so you can determine the condition for yourself.
IT’S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS FIGURE HAS REMAINED UNPUNCHED ALL THESE YEARS.  MOST KIDS WOULD PUNCHED OUT THE PIECES AND PUT THE FIGURE TOGETHER AT THE BREAKFAST TABLE TO PLAY WITH IT.
A very scarce Type card indeed.
I  will be trying to list several  EARLY TRADE & TYPE CARDS over the next few days (spread across different categories),
including one or two that are unrecorded in any guide, that were put given away with Tobacco, Caramel, Candy, Gum, Chocolate, Bread Coffee Tea Cereal and other products, covering such diverse subjects as Native American Indians , Baseball , Football, Boy Scouts, Ice Hockey, Golf, Presidents of the United States and Circus themes.  To view the other cards I have up on ebay please click  on the “View Sellers other Items” Icon located on this page. It will take you directly to them.
I am actually located in Canada just across the border
.  I have a U.S.A. mailing address, and I mail my items from the USA to avoid border delays.
Due to my work schedule and distance to the post office I am only able to ship  Monday Mornings
.  If I haven’t received payment for an item the EVENING BEFORE Monday  the item will have to wait until the next Monday  to go out. Its unfortunate but unavoidable.  If this doesn’t work for you I respectfully ask that you do not bid. Thanks again.
